To present a newly developed tool for continuous monitoring of Ukraine’s integration into the EU’s economic and institutional space. The discussion aims to improve understanding of the current state and dynamics of the integration process, disseminate reliable and up-to-date information, stimulate public dialogue, and strengthen the role of civil society in Ukraine’s preparation for EU membership.
Public debate in Ukraine is increasingly focused on the potential formats and timelines of EU accession. While accession requirements are well-defined and recent political developments may help unblock negotiation processes, the implementation of reforms—particularly legislative alignment—often faces delays. As a result, the broader picture of Ukraine’s gradual and multifaceted integration into the EU’s single market and institutions is sometimes overlooked.
In response, IER has developed the Integration Dashboard, a dynamic monitoring instrument covering:
• key statistical indicators (trade, investment, migration),
• progress in sectoral integration under the Association Agreement,
• assessments of readiness for EU membership,
• dynamics of preparation efforts,
• Ukraine’s participation in EU agencies and programs.
The presentation of the Integration Dashboard and the report will serve as a basis for discussing the current level of Ukraine’s economic and institutional integration and identifying practical approaches to advancing integration ahead of full EU membership.
