ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
About the T-RSS 2026
The Trans-Regional Seapower Symposium (T-RSS) will take place in Venice on 5th – 8th October 2026.
Over the years, T-RSS has become one of the leading international forums for dialogue among navies,
providing a platform to share strategic perspectives, operational experiences and future outlooks on
the main drivers of global maritime security. The previous edition brought together navies from 67
countries across all five continents, along with more than 170 delegations from international
organizations, universities and research centers.
The theme of the 2026 edition — From Regional Waters to Global Influence: generating effects across
the midland seas of the world — aims to analyze the interconnection between regional maritime
dynamics and their global reverb, highlighting the role of international cooperation as a key enabler
for cohere regional capabilities and strategies to achieve sustainable and shared maritime security.
The event format includes two days, featuring morning thematic panels and discussions, followed by
afternoon multilateral and bilateral engagements. A high-technology exhibition area will also be
available throughout the event.
T-RSS Registration and LNO
Starting from the 1st of June, a dedicated website will be available at the following link - XV° TRSS -
where you will find all relevant information regarding logistics and event arrangements.
On the website, all participants attending the event are requested to complete the Participation
Administration Form (PAF) not later than July 31st. After registration, each guest will receive a
confirmation email where they will be able to modify or cancel their participation if necessary.
Each delegation will be supported by an Italian Navy LNO. Besides PAF information, LNO will provide
full assistance prior to your arrival in Italy and during all the duration of the event at the following

Accommodation
For all Navy delegations attending the event, the Italian Navy will provide accommodation from 5th
October (check-in) to 8th October (check-out) for the Chief of Navy (CHON) and their partner (if
accompanying), as well as for one designated assistant. A special programme for accompanying
partners will be organized.
To ensure a comfortable stay, a selection of hotels in Venice has been identified. These hotels are
located in close proximity to the main institutional venues and historic areas of the city.
The names of the assigned hotels will be communicated via email in due course.
Transportation and Transfer
Transportation for CHON, partner and Assistant will be coordinated by the Italian Navy and supported
by assigned LNOs.
Upon arrival in Venice, the following dedicated reception points will be manned by designated
personnel to welcome guests and to provide assistance:
- Venezia Santa Lucia Railway Station (for arrivals by train);
- Venice Marco Polo Airport (for arrivals by air);
- VIP parking area in front of Santa Marta Terminal traghetti, Venice (designated for arrivals by car
only).
From these reception points, organized transfers to the assigned hotels will be provided.
Participants will be requested, through the event website and PAF, to indicate their expected arrival
and departure times, as well as their means of transportation to Venice. This information will allow
the organizing staff and LNOs to ensure efficient reception and transfer arrangements.
All Symposium activities will take place in the areas surrounding the Historic Naval Arsenal of Venice.
Given the central location of the selected hotels and venues, most locations will be within
comfortable walking distance, allowing guests to enjoy the historic setting of the city.
Events Locations
The events, in accordance with the program outlined above, will take place at the following venues:
- Squadratori Hall, located within the Venice Arsenale, will host the Symposium’s panel sessions,
keynote addresses and single-speaker talks;
- Architettura Hall, together with the facilities of the Italian Navy Maritime Studies Institute and
the Officers’ Club, also within the Arsenale area, will be used for bilateral meetings;
- the evening concert and formal dinner will take place at the prestigious Scuola Grande di San
Rocco Hall, one of Venice’s most renowned historic venues.
All venues are located within close proximity in the historic setting of Venice, ensuring convenient
access for all delegations.
Bilateral and multilateral engagements
During the XV T-RSS, delegations will have the opportunity to arrange bilateral and/or multilateral
meetings on October 5th, 6th, and 7th, from 14:30 to 17:30.
The bilateral/multilateral meetings will be held in designated rooms during the time slots
specifically synchronized and allocated for this purpose. As a general rule, each bilateral meeting
will last 20 minutes (if required, for special cases such as multilateral talks, multiple slots
assignments will be set up).
The participating CHON’s/authorities/representatives list will be shared and updated in due time
on the XV T-RSS website to enable an appropriate planning and preliminary coordination.
Delegations are encouraged to contact others countries in order to agree bilateral meetings or
“meet and greet” opportunities then submitting to the email address
[email protected] date and desired time slot for subsequent scheduling.
“Meet & greet only” requests should be specified in order to allow a better room and time-slot
management.
Each bilat meeting room will be fitted with accommodation for 6 to 8 people while the multilateral
meeting room will be able to host up to 25 persons. Every room will be equipped with LCD monitor
and laptop.
Additional Information
Dress Code:
The prescribed dress code for the event is the Winter
Service Uniform. All military participants are kindly
requested to attend official activities wearing their
respective Winter Service Uniform, or national
equivalent. Civilian participants and accompanying
guests are kindly requested to wear formal business
attire for all official events and activities included in the
program.
Gift Exchange: No Gift Policy will be observed throughout the event.
Partners
A dedicated social and entertainment program will be arranged for
accompanying partners during the event and shared on the web site.
Meals The Italian Navy will be delighted to welcome participants with an icebreaker
reception on the evening of 5th October. Lunch will be served on 6th and 7th
October. No dinner is planned for the evening of 6th October, in order to give
participants, the opportunity to visit the city and enjoy local venues. A
farewell dinner is scheduled on the evening of 7th October. A dedicated PAF
section will allow any participants to provide information on any dietary
requiriments.
Press & Media: All events will be documented by the Italian Navy’s Communications
Department, which will also coordinate national and international press and
media coverage.
Working languages: Meetings, debates, and sessions will be held in English, with simultaneous
interpretation provided in Arabic, French, and Italian.
Other: Travel costs to and from the reception points in Venice, accommodation
expenses for personnel exceeding the officially hosted delegation and for
any extra days of stay, are not included in the Italian Navy’s hosting package.
Any additional hotel services (such as room service, telephone charges, etc.)
shall be borne by the delegations.

to the 7th of October 2026 in Venice.
The 2026 Z-RSS will address the leading theme "From Regíonal Waters to Global Influence: generating effects &cross the mídland seas of the world" and will examine how maritime regional security complexes shape global stability and sea-basedflows, focusing on the vital role of regional cooperation. It will also address requirements for "future proof' leadership and technological transformation, through a multidisciplinary lens and perspectives from diverse regional actors.
I am confident that the Symposium, supported by your involvement and insights, will provide us with a valuable opportunity to further enhance dialogue, cooperation and shared understanding. The event will also offer many opportunitiesfor meetings among delegations.
Further details will be provided in due time. Meanwhile, I am pleased to share with you the draft programme of the Symposium and preliminary logistical instructions. The Italian Navy will provide accommodation in Venice for the whole duration of the event to Chiefs of Navy, together with an assistant. Furthermore, a dedicated programme will be arranged for your partner.
