Ref: 2026/JŠK/ae/26-028 Utrecht, 25th May 2026 Re: Invitation to the 6th International Training School on Core Correctional Skills Dear CEP Member, On behalf of CEP, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the 6th edition of the International Training School on Core Correctional Skills (ITSCCS), which will take place from 28 September to 2 October 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, at the Centre for Legal Studies and Specialized Training (CEJFE). This intensive one-week programme is designed for probation and correctional professionals seeking to strengthen or refresh their practical skills in effective supervision and rehabilitation. Based on Prof. Dr. Ioan Durnescu’s Core Correctional Skills framework, the training focuses on essential competencies including relationship-building, pro-social modelling, motivational interviewing, problem-solving, and cognitive restructuring. The 2026 special theme, “Clicks and Empathy: Core Correctional Skills in Digital Probation” will explore how these skills can be effectively adapted to digitally mediated supervision environments. Participants will engage with practical challenges such as building trust online, managing remote communication, maintaining professional boundaries, and sustaining meaningful working alliances in digital contexts. The programme combines modern adult-learning methodologies, including role- play, coaching, practical exercises, and peer exchange, ensuring direct applicability to daily professional practice. This training offers an outstanding opportunity to learn from international experts, exchange practices with colleagues from across Europe and beyond, and contribute to the ongoing professionalisation of probation services. CEP members benefit from preferential registration rates, with a reduced early bird fee of €450 and a regular member fee of €550. More information, including the full programme and registration details, can be found here: International Training School on Core Correctional Skills 2026
