DRAFT STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDIUM OF THE BALTIC ASSEMBLY
On Holding Russia Accountable for the Consequences of Its Aggression in Europe
We, the members of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly, standing in firm support of Ukraine and holding Russia
accountable for the consequences of its aggression in Europe,
underline that Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine poses a direct and enduring threat to
European security, including to NATO’s Eastern Flank, which must be urgently and substantially
strengthened;
acknowledge that repeated incursions of military drones into the airspace of the Baltic States and Finland are
escalating security risks and raising serious concerns about the spillover of Russia’s war against Ukraine beyond
its borders;
strongly condemn Russia’s deliberate false claims and threats against Ukraine and the Baltic States as attempts to
deflect responsibility for its crimes and conceal the devastating consequences of its aggression;
emphasise that Ukraine’s NATO accession would strengthen the entire Alliance as Ukraine is no longer only a
security recipient, and its technology and expertise already strengthen Allied security;
call on NATO and EU countries to stand united in providing military, political and humanitarian support to
Ukraine and resolute against Russia’s attacks, false narratives, and deliberate attempts to deflect responsibility
for its crimes and aggression.
