World Patient Safety Day, 17 September 2026

The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) presents his compliments to Member States and has the honour to inform them that WHO is working with international and national stakeholders to plan for World Patient Safety Day 2026, which will be observed and celebrated across the world on 17 September.

World Patient Safety Day was established in May 2019 by the World Health Assembly through the adoption of resolution WHA72.6 on “Global action on patient safety”. The aims of World Patient Safety Day, to be marked annually on 17 September, are to increase public awareness and engagement, enhance global solidarity, and mobilize action by Member States to promote patient safety in line with national objectives and milestones.

In recognition of the increased risk of patient safety incidents across the continuum of care for noncommunicable diseases, the theme selected for World Patient Safety Day 2026 is “Safe care for noncommunicable diseases”.

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are a global health priority, as reaffirmed by Member States in the 2025 United Nations’ General Assembly Political Declaration on the prevention and control of NCDs and the promotion of mental health and well-being. Strengthening safety in NCD care is essential to achieving universal health coverage and advancing progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 3, namely reducing premature mortality from NCDs. Addressing patient safety in NCDs requires attention to disease-related factors, including the long-term and complex nature of these conditions; health system challenges, such as fragmented and poorly coordinated care; and determinants of health that may increase the risk of harm. Through the slogan “Safe care for life!”, WHO calls for concerted efforts to improve patient safety across the continuum of NCD care, from prevention and early detection to treatment, long-term care and self-management. The campaign also emphasizes partnering with people with lived experience, alongside health workers, to co-develop solutions that strengthen the design and delivery of safe health services.

世界患者安全日，2026年 9月 17日

世界卫生组织（世卫组织）总干事向各会员国致意，并荣幸地告知，世卫组织正与

各国际和国家利益攸关方合作筹划于 9 月 17 日在世界各地举办 2026 年世界患者安全日

活动。

世界卫生大会于 2019 年 5 月通过关于“全球患者安全行动 ” 的 WHA72.6 号决议并

由此确定设立世界患者安全日。每年 9 月 17 日纪念的这一世界患者安全日，旨在提高公

众意识和参与，增强全球团结，并动员会员国采取行动，按照国家目标和里程碑增进患

者安全。

鉴于非传染性疾病在整个照护过程中发生患者安全事件的风险不断增加，2026 年世

界患者安全日的主题被选定为“非传染性疾病的安全照护”。

正如会员国在 2025 年联合国大会预防和控制非传染性疾病及促进精神卫生和健康问

题政治宣言中重申的那样，非传染性疾病是全球卫生优先事项。加强非传染性疾病照护

安全对于实现全民健康覆盖和推进可持续发展目标 3（即减少非传染性疾病导致的过早死

亡）至关重要。保障非传染性疾病患者安全需要关注疾病相关因素，包括这些疾病的长

期性和复杂性；卫生系统面临的挑战，例如医疗服务碎片化和协调不良；以及可能增加

伤害风险的健康决定因素。世卫组织以“安全照护，伴您一生！”为口号，呼吁各方共

同努力，改善非传染性疾病照护全过程的患者安全，涵盖从预防和早期发现到治疗、长

期护理和自我管理的各个环节。这一宣传运动还强调与有相关经历的人员以及卫生工作

Journée mondiale de la sécurité des patients et patientes, 17 septembre 2026

Le Directeur général de l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé (OMS) présente ses compliments aux États Membres et a l’honneur de les informer que l’OMS collabore actuellement avec des acteurs internationaux et nationaux en vue de préparer la Journée mondiale de la sécurité des patients et patientes 2026, qui sera célébrée partout dans le monde le 17 septembre.

La Journée mondiale de la sécurité des patients et patientes a été instaurée en mai 2019 par l’Assemblée mondiale de la Santé, après l’adoption de la résolution WHA72.6 intitulée « Action mondiale pour la sécurité des patients ». Cette journée est célébrée chaque année, le 17 septembre, afin de sensibiliser et de mobiliser le grand public, de renforcer la solidarité internationale et d’inciter les États Membres à prendre des mesures pour promouvoir la sécurité des patients et patientes conformément aux objectifs et aux étapes fixés à l’échelle nationale.

Compte tenu du risque accru d’incidents liés à la sécurité des patients et patientes tout au long du parcours de soins pour les maladies non transmissibles, le thème choisi pour la Journée mondiale de la sécurité des patients 2026 est « Des soins sûrs pour les maladies non

transmissibles ».

Les maladies non transmissibles (MNT) sont une priorité dans le domaine de la santé mondiale, comme l’ont réaffirmé les États Membres dans la déclaration politique adoptée en 2025 par l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies sur la prévention et la maîtrise des maladies non transmissibles et la promotion de la santé mentale et du bien-être. Il est essentiel de renforcer la sécurité dans les soins des MNT pour parvenir à la couverture sanitaire universelle et faire progresser la réalisation l’objectif 3 de développement durable, à savoir réduire la mortalité prématurée due aux MNT. Pour garantir la sécurité des patients et patientes atteints de MNT, il faut tenir compte des facteurs liés à ces maladies, notamment leur caractère chronique et complexe ; des défis auxquels sont confrontés les systèmes de santé, tels que la fragmentation et le manque de coordination des soins ; et des déterminants de la santé susceptibles d’accroître le risque de préjudice. Au moyen du slogan « Des soins sûrs pour la vie ! », l’OMS appelle à des efforts concertés pour améliorer la sécurité des patientes et des patients sur l’ensemble du continuum de soins contre les MNT : de la prévention et la détection précoce au traitement, aux soins de longue durée et à l’autoprise en charge. La campagne met également l’accent sur le partenariat avec des personnes ayant une expérience vécue, aux côtés des agentes et agents de santé, pour trouver conjointement des solutions qui renforcent l’élaboration et la fourniture de services de santé sans risques.

Le Siège, les bureaux régionaux et les bureaux de pays de l’OMS se réjouissent de collaborer avec les États Membres pour faire de cette Journée mondiale de la sécurité des patients et patientes 2026 une réussite. свидетельствует свое уважение государствам-членам и имеет честь проинформировать их

о том, что ВОЗ совместно с международными и национальными заинтересованными

сторонами ведет работу по планированию проведения Всемирного дня безопасности

пациентов 2026 г., который будет отмечаться во всем мире 17 сентября.

Всемирный день безопасности пациентов был учрежден принятой в мае 2019 г.

резолюцией Всемирной ассамблеи здравоохранения WHA72.6 «Глобальные действия по

обеспечению безопасности пациентов». Этот день отмечается ежегодно 17 сентября в

целях повышения осведомленности и вовлеченности общественности, укрепления

глобальной солидарности и мобилизации действий государств-членов в интересах

безопасности пациентов в соответствии с национальными задачами и целевыми

показателями.

В знак признания повышенного риска причинения вреда здоровью пациентов на

различных этапах оказания медицинской помощи при неинфекционных заболеваниях в

2026 г. кампания проводится в рамках темы «Безопасная медицинская помощь в

течение всей жизни».

Неинфекционные заболевания (НИЗ) являются одной из приоритетных проблем

здравоохранения во всем мире, что было вновь подтверждено государствами-членами в

Политической декларации Генеральной Ассамблеи Организации Объединенных Наций

2025 г. по профилактике неинфекционных заболеваний и борьбе с ними и укреплению

психического здоровья и благополучия. Повышение безопасности медицинской помощи

при НИЗ является условием обеспечения всеобщего охвата услугами здравоохранения и

успешной работы по достижению цели 3 в области устойчивого развития, включая

сокращение преждевременной смертности от НИЗ. Обеспечение безопасности пациентов

при оказании помощи в связи с НИЗ требует учета особенностей этих заболеваний, в том

числе их хронического и комплексного характера; принятия мер по решению системных

проблем здравоохранения, таких как фрагментированность и недостаточный уровень

координации между различными службами; а также коррекции детерминант здоровья,

которые могут приводить к повышенному риску причинения вреда пациентам. Под

лозунгом «Безопасная медицинская помощь в течение всей жизни!» ВОЗ призывает к

организованным усилиям по повышению безопасности пациентов на всех этапах оказания

помощи при НИЗ — от профилактики и раннего выявления до лечения, долговременного

ухода и самопомощи. В ходе кампании также будет поднят вопрос о важности

привлечения лиц, живущих с НИЗ, а также медицинских и медико-социальных

работников в качестве участников процесса выработки решений в области безопасности

пациентов на этапах планирования и оказания услуг здравоохранения.

Día Mundial de la Seguridad del Paciente, 17 de septiembre de 2026

El Director General de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) presenta sus respetos a los Estados Miembros y tiene el honor de informarlos de que la OMS está colaborando con las partes interesadas internacionales y nacionales para planificar el Día Mundial de la Seguridad del Paciente de 2026, que se observará y celebrará en todo el mundo el próximo 17 de septiembre.

La Asamblea Mundial de la Salud estableció el Día Mundial de la Seguridad del Paciente en mayo de 2019 mediante la adopción de la resolución WHA72.6, titulada «Acción mundial en pro de la seguridad del paciente». Los objetivos del Día Mundial de la Seguridad del Paciente, que se celebra anualmente el 17 de septiembre, son despertar una mayor concienciación y participación, mejorar la solidaridad mundial y movilizar la acción de los Estados Miembros para promover la seguridad del paciente en consonancia con los objetivos y las metas intermedias nacionales.

En reconocimiento del riesgo cada vez mayor de incidentes relacionados con la seguridad del paciente a lo largo del proceso continuo de atención en el caso de las enfermedades no transmisibles, el tema elegido para el Día Mundial de la Seguridad del Paciente de 2026 es «Atención segura para las enfermedades no transmisibles».

Las enfermedades no transmisibles (ENT) son una prioridad de salud a escala mundial, como lo reafirmaron los Estados Miembros en la declaración política de la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas sobre la prevención y el control de las enfermedades no transmisibles y la promoción de la salud mental y el bienestar, de 2025. Fortalecer la seguridad en la atención de las ENT es esencial para lograr la cobertura universal de salud y avanzar hacia el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible 3, a saber, reducir la mortalidad prematura por ENT. Abordar la seguridad del paciente en el caso de las ENT requiere prestar atención a factores relacionados con la enfermedad, como la naturaleza a largo plazo y compleja de estas afecciones; los desafíos para los sistemas de salud, por ejemplo, una atención fragmentada y mal coordinada; y los determinantes de la salud que pueden aumentar el riesgo de sufrir daños. A través del lema «¡Atención segura durante toda la vida!», la OMS hace un llamamiento para concertar esfuerzos a fin de mejorar la seguridad del paciente a lo largo del proceso continuo de atención en lo que respecta a las ENT, desde la prevención y la detección temprana hasta el tratamiento, los cuidados a largo plazo y el automanejo. La campaña insiste asimismo en la colaboración con personas con experiencia de primera mano, así como con trabajadores de la salud, para desarrollar conjuntamente soluciones que refuercen el diseño y la prestación de servicios de salud seguros.
