Dear Cyeague,
As my term as Minister of Finance of the Repubiic of Siovenia comes to an end, 1 would like to take this opportunity to sincereiy thank ali of you for the cooperation, discussions and shared efforts over the pastyears.
Serving at the ECOFIN table during a period marked by multiple crises, economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and major European transitions has been both a demanding and deeply valuable experience. In such moments, one quickly realises that European cooperation is often not bulit through grand declarations, but through patience, dialogue, trust and the wiUingness to continue searching for common
solutions even when positions diifer.
Over the years, 1 have had the privilege of working alongside coileagues with differentpoiitical views, economic structures and national priorities, yet united by a shared responsibility for the stability and future of Europa.
1 particuiarly appreciated the open exchanges, constructive discussions and professional relationships developed throughout this period. They have strengthened my belief that Europe moves forward precisely because of its ability to balance different perspectives while preserving unity in moments that matter most.
Equally important to me were the personal relationships and friendships that developed along the way. In a political environment that is often demanding and fast-moving, such genuine coflegiality shouid never be taken for granted. It is a vaiuable part of what makes our cooperation work, and something 1 hava truly appreciated throughout these years. 1 sincerely hope that, despite moving on to different roles and responsibilities, we will remain in touch in the years ahead.
The challenges ahead for Europe remain significant — from competitiveness, defence and energy security to demographic pressures, ciimate transition and sustainable pubiic finances. 1 am convinced that these challenges wiII continue to require both fiscal responsibility and political courage.
