The Government Communication Center at the Prime Minister’s Office issues the Situation Report once
a week in English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese, Greek, and Malay. The next Situation
Report will be issued on 29 Jun 2026.
DAY 255 SINCE THE “CEASEFIRE” DEAL: ISRAEL KILLED 1,021 PALESTINIANS IN GAZA, RAISING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PALESTINIANS KILLED SINCE THE GENOCIDE BEGAN TO 73,032 The Israeli occupation continues to bombard Gaza, destroy civilian infrastructure, and inflict widespread
suffering on the Palestinian people as humanitarian conditions further deteriorate. According to
UNRWA, severe shortages have drastically reduced access to drinking and clean water, forcing most
Palestinians to depend on severely constrained aid-supported water supplies to meet their daily needs.
Widespread forced displacement also continues, while Israeli restrictions impede humanitarian
operations across the Strip. Humanitarian agencies report that Israeli occupation authorities continue
to block the entry of shelter materials into Gaza, while “Israel’s military operations have destroyed and
damaged 76.6% of the housing stock.” As a result, nearly one million Palestinians now live in tents,
while thousands more remain in overcrowded shelters or out in the open. Over the past week, Israeli
occupation forces (IOF) continued their attacks across Gaza, causing additional civilian casualties and
worsening living conditions. On Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike north of the Nuseirat refugee camp in
central Gaza killed two Palestinians. On Wednesday, an Israeli drone launched a missile attack
targeting civilians gathered at a café in Al-Mawasi, killing and injuring several Palestinians. On
Thursday, IOF also struck Khan Younis in southern Gaza, killing and injuring several more Palestinians,
including Abduljawad Abu Laban, who was distributing wedding invitations ahead of his planned
marriage. The same day, an Israeli drone strike targeting a civilian vehicle in Gaza City killed three
Palestinians and injured several others. Meanwhile, the UN Relief Chief warned that “too many
Palestinians are being squeezed into an ever-shrinking strip of land,” adding that their lives are
increasingly shaped by the indignity of repeated displacement imposed by constantly shifting “yellow”
and “orange” lines that define where they may seek refuge.
ISRAEL’S WAR & AID RESTRICTIONS CONTINUE TO TAKE A HEAVY TOLL ON GAZA’S CHILDREN On 16 June, Plan International reported that Israeli attacks across five locations in Gaza on 10 June
killed eight children and injured 17 others in a single day, including children who were playing football.
Among those killed was three-year-old Rayan Abu al-Ajeen, who was shot and killed by IOF while with
his father in central Gaza. UNICEF stated that since the announcement of the "ceasefire," IOF have
killed 265 Palestinian children and injured more than 400 others across Gaza. These attacks have been
carried out through shootings, airstrikes, and drone strikes, targeting children in homes, displacement
tents, schools, playgrounds, and public spaces. Meanwhile, Oxfam told the United Nations Security
Council that Israel continues to impose significant restrictions on the operations of humanitarian
organizations, including UNRWA and other aid agencies, severely limiting humanitarian access and
obstructing the delivery of life-saving assistance to civilians throughout the Gaza Strip.

ISRAEL SEIZES CONTROL OVER HEBRON’S IBRAHIMI MOSQUE, UNDERMINING LONG-STANDING AGREEMENTS Israeli far-right minister Bezalel Smotrich announced on 16 June that Israel has seized planning and
construction powers covering the Ibrahimi Mosque in the "H2" area of Hebron, stripping these
authorities from the Hebron Municipality and effectively undermining long-standing arrangements
established under the 1997 Hebron Agreement. The Palestinian Presidency warned that this measure
directly affects the political and legal status of Hebron and the bilateral agreements concerning it. It
stressed that such unilateral measures are rejected and condemned, and constitute a violation of
signed agreements with the Israeli side, as well as a breach of international law and international
legitimacy, which prohibit altering the status quo in the occupied territory of the State of Palestine.
ONGOING FORCED DISPLACEMENT IN THE WEST BANK, INCLUDING JERUSALEM The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) reported a significant
increase in the forced displacement of Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, including
Jerusalem, since October 2023. According to the Office, the surge has been driven by a combination
of settler terror attacks, home demolitions, movement restrictions, and forced evictions, raising serious
concerns under international law regarding the crime of forcible transfer of protected persons in
occupied territory. In occupied Jerusalem, the threat of displacement continues to affect Palestinian
families. On 18 June, the Shaludi family in the Silwan neighborhood received an eviction order requiring
them to vacate their home by 24 June, following ‘legal’ proceedings initiated by Heimanuta, a subsidiary
of the Jewish National Fund, under Israel’s so-called “Absentees’ Property Law.”
SETTLER TERRORISM ESCALATES AMID WIDESPREAD ATTACKS ON AGRICULTURE AND PLACES OF WORSHIP IN THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK The Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture documented extensive damage to the agricultural sector across
the occupied West Bank as a result of attacks carried out by Israeli colonial settlers and occupation
forces. According to the Ministry, 7,258 trees were destroyed during the reporting period, including
1,270 olive trees, in addition to widespread damage to crops, irrigation networks, agricultural roads,
fences, and livestock assets. The reported attacks caused direct losses estimated at approximately
USD 5.17 million, inflicting significant harm on agricultural production, livelihoods, and food security. In
a separate development, Israeli settlers carried out arson attacks against two mosques in the villages
of Jiljilya and Mazre’ al-Nubani, setting fire to parts of the buildings and spray-painting racist slogans
on the walls, causing significant damage to the structures and their contents. Following the attacks,
IOF stormed the area and fired tear gas and stun grenades at Palestinians, resulting in reported injuries.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the terror attacks, describing them as part of an
escalating pattern of settler terror targeting Palestinians and their property, and constituting a serious
violation of religious sanctities and international law. The Ministry reiterated its call for the international
community to hold perpetrators accountable and to designate extremist settler mobs as terrorist
organizations.
ISRAEL'S CONTINUED AGGRESSION AGAINST THE NORTHERN WEST BANK The occupation's aggression has persisted for 518 days against Jenin and its refugee camp, 512
days against Tulkarem and its refugee camp, and 492 days against Nour Shams refugee camp,
forcibly displacing more than 33,000 Palestinian refugees since January 2025.

Reports by Palestinian prisoners’ institutions continue to raise serious concerns regarding the treatment
and detention conditions of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli occupation prisons. On 17 June,
Palestinian prisoners’ institutions, including Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), and
the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, issued an urgent appeal to the World Health
Organization (WHO) regarding the spread of scabies and the deteriorating health conditions of
Palestinian detainees in Israeli occupation prisons and detention centers. The organizations reported
severe overcrowding, poor hygiene conditions, limited access to medical care, and the continued
spread of communicable diseases, including among child detainees. The PPS also reported that the
‘Israeli Supreme Court upheld the detention of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya under the so-called “Unlawful
Combatants Law,” which permits prolonged, open-ended detention outside the fundamental
guarantees of justice and international law. According to PPS, approximately 49% of Palestinian
prisoners are currently held arbitrarily without trial or charge, whether classified as "unlawful
combatants" or held under administrative detention. In addition, the PPS stated that 65 Palestinian
secondary school students in Israeli occupation prisons were denied their right to education and
effectively prevented from sitting for their final examinations (Tawjihi) due to their incarceration,
highlighting the broader impact of intensified arrest campaigns targeting Palestinian students since
October 2023. The organization further documented cases of ill-treatment, restrictions on access to
education, and other violations affecting detained children and students.
Despite the exceptional and unprecedented circumstances facing the State of Palestine, including the
escalation of settler terror attacks, the imposition by the Israeli occupation authorities of more than 900
military checkpoints and iron gates that obstruct the movement of citizens and isolate Palestinian cities
and villages, as well as the continued full withholding of Palestinian tax revenues for nearly a year and
a half—revenues that constitute approximately 68% of the State of Palestine’s total financial
resources—the Palestinian Government continues to fulfill its national responsibilities and ensure the
continuity of essential public services, foremost among them the right to education. In this context, the
Palestinian Government has completed all necessary preparations for this year’s General Secondary
Education Examination (Tawjihi), with the participation of approximately 91,000 students, in a scene
that reflects the determination of Palestinian students to uphold their right to education despite severe
and escalating political, economic, and humanitarian challenges. In the Gaza Strip, where the ongoing
war has destroyed more than 80% of schools and educational institutions, the Government continues
its efforts to ensure that students are not deprived of completing their educational journey. Accordingly,
Tawjihi examinations are being conducted electronically for approximately 37,000 students for the third
consecutive year. This approach reflects the ability of Palestinian institutions to adapt to extraordinary
circumstances and sustain the educational process despite the scale of destruction and human
suffering. Simultaneously, as examinations are being held throughout the West Bank, including in
several schools in Jerusalem, this national educational process extends far beyond the borders of
occupied Palestine. Palestinian students are also sitting for their examinations in approximately 46
countries worldwide, following the forced displacement of thousands of Palestinian families as a result
of war, aggression, and Israeli occupation policies that continue to uprooted the Palestinian people from

their homes. The successful organization of the Tawjihi examinations under these highly complex
conditions underscores that education remains a national priority and that investment in the Palestinian
human being constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of resilience, state-building, and national
development. It also reflects the Palestinian Government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding
students’ right to education and ensuring equal opportunities for all, wherever they may be, despite
unprecedented political, financial, and logistical challenges.
