NOTE VERBALE
The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) presents its compliments to the Embassies of its Member States in Italy and has the honour to inform them that the opening
session of the International Programme for Law and Development – Balkans, Eastern Partnership countries, Central Asia, and the Caucasus (BEPCAC) 2026 will take place in person in Rome on Monday, 7 September 2026, commencing at 11:00 a.m., at the premises of UNIDROIT, Via Panisperna 28, Rome
Now in its second edition, the IPLD Programme brings together young legal professionals from across
the African continent, aiming to foster international legal cooperation through a deeper understanding of key UNIDROIT instruments related to sustainable development, agricultural investment, access to credit, digitalisation, and cultural heritage.
This edition is made possible thanks to the generous contribution of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as part of its broader commitment to strengthening Italy–Africa cooperation in the legal and development fields.
UNIDROIT would be honoured by the presence of representatives of its Member States at this
inaugural session, which will mark a momentous occasion for institutional dialogue and exchange among international and Italian stakeholders, experts, and programme participants.
A lunch reception buffet will be offered at the Institute to welcome guests attending the event.
UNIDROIT avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassies of its Member States in Italy the assurances of its highest consideration.
