NOTE FOR THE ATTENTION OF TRANSPORT STATISTICS CONTACTS
Subject: Eurostat/ITF/UNECE Common Questionnaire on Inland Transport
Statistics – Launch of the data collection for reference year 2023
Dear Colleagues,
Eurostat, the ITF and UNECE have the pleasure to launch the 2023 (reference year) data collection for
the Common Questionnaire on Inland Transport Statistics (CQ).
The non-filled Excel-based questionnaires for 2023 data, as well as the completed questionnaires for
years 2013 to 2022, are stored by country, year and theme in CircaBC: Common Questionnaire – Library
– by country (europa.eu). Please provide data for 2023 and, if needed, revise data for earlier years by
using the appropriate questionnaire (i.e. of the corresponding reference year). We remind you that “static
data” for previous years in any questionnaire or quality report are “read only” data and will not be taken
into account by our IT system if you modify them. Completed questionnaires are to be sent via the
EDAMIS Production (europa.eu) web portal. Access requires an EU Login.
More information on the entire process can be found in the document “Guidelines for data providers”,
also available in CircaBC: Common Questionnaire – Library - guidelines (europa.eu). These guidelines
have not been changed since last year.
We would appreciate it if you could provide data on “Road – transport equipment” by Friday 28 June
2024, as we would like to publish statistics on this topic at the beginning of the summer.
For all 2023 CQ indicators, we would you to complete the data collection by Friday 4 October 2024.
Eurostat will need some time to assess the quality of the data received before presenting them in the
meeting of the Coordinating Group for Statistics on Transport (CGST) on 15-16 October. Eurostat
intends to publish the 2023 CQ data by the end of the year.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us (Alain.Gallais@ec.europa.eu or
Evangelia.Ford-Alexandraki@ec.europa.eu). We thank you in advance.
Yours sincerely,
Nikolaos ROUBANIS Rachele POGGI Fadiah ACHMADI
