Purpose of the visit
• To discuss current challenges and needs in the penitentiary sphere and examine how the penitentiary system of Ukraine functions under conditions of full-scale military aggression.
• To identify opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in digitalisation and professional training.
• To present and discuss the curriculum for junior inspectors developed through Ukrainian–Estonian cooperation and to present and hand over the Ukrainian translation of the penitentiary skills book.
• To exchange practical experience through visits to penitentiary and probation institutions in different regions of Ukraine.
• To transfer charitable financial assistance collected by the Estonian Prison and Probation Service to relatives of employees of the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine who suffered as a result of Russian aggression.
