On behalf of the Baltic Assembly, please accept our sincere congratulations on the occasion of the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Estonia. We extend our warmest wishes to you, the members of the Riigikogu, and the people of Estonia on this important national day! Thirty-five years ago, Estonia restored its independence and reaffirmed the right of its people to shape their own future. The significance of this day extends beyond the restoration of statehood, as it reflects the determination of the Estonian people to defend their freedom and sovereignty even in the most difficult circumstances. That same determination remains just as important today as it was in 1991. The experience of the past decades has shown us all that independence must also be strengthened through close cooperation with trusted partners. In this regard, Estonia has made an irreplaceable contribution to a secure and forward-looking Baltic region. The partnership between Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia continues to provide a strong foundation for protecting our common interests and ensuring that the Baltic voice is heard clearly in Europe and beyond. May the determination that made the restoration of independence possible continue to guide Estonia in the years ahead. We wish the people of Estonia confidence in their country and continued success in building a strong and prosperous state! Please accept the assurances of our highest consideration.
