Subject: Information session on the Meeting of Experts on Ergonomics and
Human Factors

Dear Chairperson of the Government Group,
Dear Regional Coordinators,

As you may recall, at its 356th Session (March-April 2026) Session, the
Governing Body approved the arrangements for the Meeting of Experts on
Ergonomics and Human Factors, to be held from 12 to 16 April 2027. At the
time, it decided that the meeting of experts would aim to agree on
technical conclusions clarifying the scope and key elements of ergonomics
hazards within the framework of the ILO and in line with current
scientific knowledge. The Meeting would be composed of eight experts
nominated after consultation with Governments, eight Employer experts
nominated after consultation with the Employers’ group and, eight Worker
experts nominated after consultation with the Workers’ group, as well as
advisers and observers, as provided for under the Standing Orders for
Meetings of Experts.

In this regard, the Office would like to invite you to a meeting on
Tuesday, 22 September, from 11:00 to 12:00 noon in room X at ILO
headquarters, to present the proposed criteria for identifying the
governments to be invited to nominate an expert. Please find below the
