We invite you to the online event "Reforms for EU Membership: Between Plans, Commitments and Real Change" on September 30, 2026, at 15:00(Kyiv time).

Ukraine is shaping its economic policy taking into account its cooperation programme with the IMF, the Ukraine Plan under the Ukraine Facility, EU macro-financial assistance programmes, and World Bank programmes. Ukraine’s commitments under these frameworks are effectively shaping the reform agenda aimed at strengthening the country’s economic resilience and preparing Ukraine for EU membership. At the same time, international commitments do not always lead to the timely adoption of the necessary decisions. Another challenge is translating decisions into concrete steps and tangible changes.

The European Union itself is also constantly evolving. New strategies, legislative initiatives and approaches to regulating socio-economic processes are being adopted, which Ukraine should already take into account when shaping its public policies. However, the institutional challenges of EU membership and changing EU development priorities are not always adequately integrated into Ukraine’s strategic planning.

During a special edition of the regular RRR4U monitoring, on September 30 we will discuss the implementation of Ukraine’s international commitments, its progress towards EU membership, and the extent to which Ukraine’s reforms are actually preparing the country for full integration into a European community that is itself constantly evolving.

The programme will include:

• the status of implementation of Ukraine’s cooperation programme with the IMF;
• an updated status of implementation of the Ukraine Plan indicators and the conditions for EU macro-financial assistance;
• implementation of commitments under World Bank programmes;
• new EU strategic and regulatory priorities: what they mean for Ukraine;
• a panel discussion with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada, the Government of Ukraine and experts.
