The conference is organized by the patient organization Latvian Cystic fibrosis society and will bring together cystic fibrosis specialists, healthcare professionals, researchers and representatives of patient organizations from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and other European countries. Many healthcare professionals will participate in the conference, and attendees will receive certificates with continuing medical education (CME) points, as this is an international scientific conference.

This year, particular attention will be devoted to the development of adult cystic fibrosis care, multidisciplinary cooperation, the development of specialized CF centres, access to modern treatment and the exchange of experience between European countries. The cystic fibrosis patient organizations in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have had a friendly and close cooperation for many years. The cooperation between the three Baltic countries is especially important to us – we regularly share our experience and support each other. We highly value the support of each Baltic country in ensuring access to innovative medicines for people with cystic fibrosis, thereby providing patients with the opportunity to receive modern treatment.

Therefore, during the opening of the conference, we would like to give the floor to the Ministers of Health of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, or their designated representatives, to address the conference participants with a welcome speech. It would be a great honour for us if you could represent Estonia at the opening of the conference and address the conference participants.Your participation would be an important expression of the cooperation between the Baltic countries and their support for the further development of healthcare and improvement of the quality of life of people living with cystic fibrosis.
