Dear Minister, I am writing to inform you of a temporary leadership arrangement within the WHO Country Office in Estonia. On 17 September 2026, Kristina Köhler, Head of the WHO Office in Estonia, commenced maternity leave. Since then, the Head of the WHO Office in Latvia has been providing remote support to the work of our Office in Estonia. Effective 7 October 2026, we are pleased to inform you that Katrin Aarma will serve as Acting Head of Office of the WHO Country Office in Estonia. Ms Aarma brings extensive experience in public health policy and government coordination, having worked closely with WHO and national stakeholders over many years. She is well known to partners across the Estonian health sector and brings strong expertise in health policy, emergency preparedness and multisectoral collaboration. Ms Aarma has the full support of the WHO Regional Office for Europe and is authorized to act on behalf of the Country Office, ensuring continuity in our collaboration and ongoing support to the Government of Estonia. I would like to reaffirm WHO’s strong commitment to its partnership with Estonia and to supporting the country’s health priorities. We greatly value our close cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and other national counterparts. Thank you for working closely with Ms Aarma as Acting Head of Office during Ms Köhler’s leave. I am confident that our excellent collaboration will continue throughout this period.
