My name is Hai Dang, Assistant to the Ambassador of Viet Nam to
Finland.
I am writing to share that a high-level delegation of the National
Assembly of Viet Nam is expected to pay a working visit to Estonia
around mid-November 2026, as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen
parliamentary exchanges and cooperation with the Nordic and Baltic
countries.
In this regard, we would be most grateful if you could kindly assist us
in exploring the possibility of arranging meetings with H.E. Mr Lauri
Hussar, President of the Riigikogu, and, if possible, the
Vice-Presidents of the Riigikogu, Mr Toomas Kivimägi or Mr Arvo Aller,
during the delegation's visit.
The proposed meetings would provide an excellent opportunity to exchange
views on bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation, legislative
experiences, digital transformation and other areas of mutual interest,
while exploring ways to further strengthen exchanges between the two
legislatures.
I would also like to highlight that in September 2026, a high-level
delegation of the National Assembly of Viet Nam, led by H.E. Mr Nguyen
Doan Anh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, paid a successful
working visit to Finland, during which the delegation held meetings with
the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Finnish Parliament.
Viet Nam attaches great importance to strengthening its relations with
the Nordic and Baltic countries, and we highly value parliamentary
diplomacy as an important channel for promoting political dialogue,
mutual understanding and practical cooperation.
The upcoming visit to Estonia would therefore be another meaningful step
in reaffirming Viet Nam's commitment to deepening parliamentary ties
with countries in the region, while further strengthening the friendship
and cooperation between Viet Nam and Estonia.
Although the delegation's final composition and detailed programme are
still being confirmed, we would greatly appreciate it if you could
kindly provide us with a preliminary indication of the availability of
the Riigikogu leadership around mid-November.
We would, of course, be happy to adjust the proposed schedule according
to the availability of the President and Vice-Presidents of the
Riigikogu. Further details, including the name of the Head of Delegation
and an official request, will be provided as soon as they are finalised.
