INVITATION TO THE 12TH ZAMBIA HEALTH RESEARCH CONFERENCE AND LAUNCH OF THE NATIONAL KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION FRAMEWORK: LIVINGSTONE 2ND TO 4™ DECEMBER 2026

The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Stockholm wishes to inform you that the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the National Health Research Authority (NHRA), a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health in Zambia is organising the 12th Zambia health Research Conference (ZHRC), which is scheduled to be held in Livingstone, Zambia from 2nd to 4th December 2026 under the theme "Closing the Evidence-Action Gap for Resilient Health Systems". The research conference is a premier international platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue and collaboration among policymakers, researchers, programme implementers, development partners, civil society organisations and the private sector.

Over the years, the conference has contributed to several evidence informed policy and programmatic decisions in Zambia that demonstrate the value of translating research findings into practical actions that improve health outcomes. This year's conference will also mark the official launch of Zambia's National Knowledge Translation Framework, a strategic instrument designed to strengthen the systematic generation, synthesis, dissemination and application of evidence in decision-making processes.

The launch presents an opportunity for regional learning and exchange on effective mechanisms to bridging the gap between evidence generation and policy implementation.

The Ministry of Health in Zambia is therefore extending an invitation to Ministers responsible for health and other technical leaders in the health sector to showcase innovative programmes informed by scientific evidence and country experiences.
