Domnica Manole, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, is honored to

welcome you in Chișinău for the XIXth Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional

Courts, that will take place between 21-24 May 2024.

This practical guide provides some useful information on logistics.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Conference of European Constitutional Courts (CECC), which was established in Dubrovnik in

1972, brings together representatives of 40 European constitutional or equivalent courts conducting

a constitutional review.

The Conference organizes congresses at regular intervals. It promotes the exchange of information

among its members on issues relating to the methods and practice of constitutional review and

provides a forum for the participants to share opinions on institutional, structural and practical

problems in the areas of public law and constitutional jurisdiction. Besides, it takes measures to

strengthen the independence of constitutional courts as an essential element of the guarantee and

implementation of democracy and a state under the rule of law and pays particular attention to the

protection of human rights. It strongly supports the improvement of lasting relations between

European constitutional courts and similar institutions.

The Congress is organized every three years and this year marks the ending of the Presidency of the

Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, hence it will take place in Chișinău.

The XIXth Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts will take place between

21– 24 May 2024, in Chișinău.

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURE OF PARTICIPANTS

On arrival of participants at the Chișinău International Airport (RMO), the delegations will be

welcomed by a representative of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova.

The delegations will have a special access through the Official Delegation Hall (ODH).

The transfers to and from the airport will be provided by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of

Moldova according to the flight schedules indicated in the Registration Forms.

Transportation to the Congress venue on 22 and 23 May 2024 will be provided by the Constitutional

Court of the Republic of Moldova as well.

WORKING LANGUAGE AND INTERPRETATION

The working languages of the Congress and of the Circle of Presidents meetings are English,

French, German and Romanian. Simultaneous translation will be provided.

SITTING ARRANGEMENTS AT THE MAIN CONFERENCE TABLE

As per Article 13 of the Conference Regulations, in the “Circle of Presidents” and at the Congress,

full members take their seats in general in order of their admission as full member; if they have

been admitted simultaneously, they sit in alphabetical order.

ACCOMODATION

Accommodation is the sole responsibility of the delegations. The organizers have not pre-booked

any hotel rooms for delegations. The costs are to be covered by delegations solely. A list of

recommended hotels was sent to you on an earlier date.
