The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) presents its

compliments to the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Italy and, in its capacity as Depositary of

the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment (the Convention) and the Protocol to

the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters specific to Railway Rolling

Stock (the Rail Protocol), has the honour to inform it that, in accordance with the provisions of Article

XXIII(1)(b) of the Rail Protocol, the Rail Protocol entered into force on 8 March 2024 following the

deposit by the Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF) of the

certificate confirming that the International Registry is fully operational on 8 March 2024.

UNIDROIT would be grateful if the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Italy would kindly

bring the contents of this Note Verbale, as well as its enclosure, to the attention of the competent

Authorities of its Government.

UNIDROIT avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia

in Italy the assurances of its highest consideration.
