RE: Invitation to the Workshop on Working with Communities and
Awareness-Raising in Probation
Dear CEP member, dear colleague,
Please accept our sincere invitation to attend the Workshop on Working with
Communities and Awareness-Raising in Probation which is organized in
cooperation with the Probation and Mediation Service, Czech Republic, on 10-11 June
2024 in Prague.
We sincerely invite everyone interested in the topic of awareness-raising in probation
starting from probation practitioners working on all levels to policy advisors, senior
managers, project leaders to communication managers or partnership organisations to
join us for this event in Prague.
In the workshop we will approach the topic of working with communities and
awareness raising from various perspectives and unveil behind-the-scene steps taken
to bridge the gap between media and probation. The workshop will host speakers from
across Europe presenting the strategies aimed at raising awareness, projects and its
overall communication with media, local communities, partners in the criminal justice
chain and the general public. From local to national level it will explore how to break
stereotypes and barriers in the narratives facing probation and offer stories of success
and failure while trying to achieve greater probation awareness. As an accompanying
programme you are welcome to take part in the Yellow Ribbon Run 2024 which will
take place on 11 June 2024 in the afternoon.
The lunch-to-lunch event taking in the small community-based Theatre Debut will
provide you with a unique opportunity to literally experience the standing-on-stage
feeling while trying to engage the audience and bring the feeling of mutual connection
and understanding, persuading the audience to look at things from different
perspectives and thus opening broader horizons.
The participation fee is 25 EUR. Registration is open up till 31 May 2024.
