Dear Minister Riisalo,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 8th High-Level Meeting of the European Battery
Alliance (EBA), organised in agreement with the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European
Union. The meeting will be held in person in Brussels on Friday 24th May 2024 before the
Competitiveness Council (internal market and industry), from 8.00 to 9.30 CET.
We would be delighted if you could join this discussion, together with the other Ministers
representing the Member States in the Competitiveness Council, Diego Pavia, CEO of EIT
InnoEnergy and leading the industrial workstream of the EBA as well as representatives from the
industry. This event will be a valuable occasion for you to share your thoughts on the latest
developments affecting the European battery ecosystem and electric mobility sector, notably taking
stock of the 2018 Battery Action Plan, and possible future actions.
Please note that this is a personal invitation. The ministerial discussion will take place in the
Schuman room of the Berlaymont building. The format is 1+1 in the main room, and one extra person
per delegation will be allowed in room Jean Rey which will be made available as a listening room.
We kindly ask you to please confirm your participation at the latest by 6th May 2024, writing to CAB-
[email protected] with indication of the name of the other delegation members
(maximum 2).
A detailed agenda, together with further elements to steer our debate, will be shared with your offices
closer to the date of the event. Kamil Talbi ([email protected]), the member of Cabinet
responsible for this file, remains at your disposal for any additional questions you may have in the
meantime.
We look forward to our exchanges in Brussels and to continuing our cooperation to build together an
ever-brighter future for our European Battery Alliance.
Yours sincerely,
