Invitation to the Side Event on Digital Automatic Coupling at the ITF Summit 2024 in Leipzig
Excellencies, esteemed experts, ladies and gentlemen,
The German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport and the Swiss Federal Department of the
Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications have the honour to officially invite you to the
side event on
Digital Automatic Coupling.
The digital automatic coupling DAC is the core component for the automation of rail freight transport. In
order for the DAC to be effective, it must be introduced on a large scale. As European countries with a
dense network with considerable potential, we are responsible for contributing to making freight
transport fit for the future. How can we achieve this together? This is what we want to discuss with you.
We look forward to welcoming many participants from the EU member states, relevant institutions and
the industry.

Official registration to the ITF Summit 2024 is necessary in order to have access to the premises where
the event takes place. Registrations can be made through the conference webpage: Registration - ITF
Summit 2024 (itf-oecd.org) and runs independently from the side event on DAC.
The event is open to all participants of the ITF Summit. For organizational reasons, we would
appreciate a short confirmation of your participation at the side-event to the following address:
[email protected]. It is, however, not compulsory and spontaneous attendance is possible
(limited seats available).
