Subject: Technical meeting on EDD with EU and ECAC Member States. May 30. Brussels
Dear all,
Following the progress made by the ECAC Study Group on Explosive Detection Dogs in recent years, you are invited to the next technical meeting on Explosive Detection Dogs with EU and ECAC Member States. The purpose of this meeting is to build on the work conducted by Member States and ECAC to enhance harmonization for the implementation of EDD in Europe.
The meeting is scheduled to be held in Brussels at DG HOME facilities, Rue Luxembourg 46, on May 30, from 10:00 to 16:00h (CET).
Please find attached the draft agenda with the proposed items:
1. Possible update of EDD performance requirements and other regulatory changes proposed by ECAC.
2. EDD as the primary screening method for vehicles – concept of a possible future update of Doc 30 Recommendations and EU regulatory framework.
3. Debrief on the results of the test on barrels conducted in FR and BE.
The related documents will be submitted to participants confirming their attendance. If any Member State wishes to provide or present any other information during meeting, please let us know in advance so that we can include it accordingly in the agenda.
Due to room capacity limitations, only one representative per Member State can attend the meeting. Please confirm your interest in the meeting by providing the participant's details via email to MOVE-EU-AVSEC@ec.europa.eu
by May 17 at the latest. Additionally, please inform us if there is more than one participant from your organization interested, and we will confirm their participation if more seats become available after May 17. Please note that this invitation does not include any reimbursable travel or accommodation expenses.
SECURITY CLEARANCE PROCEDURE
As some elements of the discussions require communication of classified information, the meeting will be set at SECRET UE/EU SECRET level, all participants must provide proof of their valid Personal Security Clearance (PSC) at least 72 hours in advance to be granted access. Please submit your valid PSC to EC-SECURITY-CLEARANCE@ec.europa.eu, with MOVE-EU-AVSEC@ec.europa.eu copied. For those who have previously submitted a copy of their Personal Security Clearance, please send it again even if the certificate is still valid (new procedure).
Once on DG HOME premises, please note that any electronic devices are strictly forbidden in the Secured Area. You will be required to store any mobile phones, tablets, laptops etc. in a locker room outside the Secured Area.
