Dear Sir/Madam,
On behalf of the ITU Secretary General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Giga - the joint ITU/UNICEF initiative to connect every school to the Internet - is delighted to invite H.E. Mr. Tiit Riisalo to join us for a private high-level breakfast and discussion around the important work of our initiative.
The breakfast will take place on Wednesday, the 29th of May from 07:45 to 08:45 CEST at the ITU Tower building, 15th floor.
Please find attached the formal invitation letter from ITU Secretary-General.
A few other important elements to mention:
- * Invite & RSVP: We are pleased to extend this invitation to you plus one additional guest. Please confirm your presence and let us know who will be joining via the RSVP link no later than May 22nd. Kindly be advised that all participants must complete the form, as only those who have RSVP'd will be granted access to the breakfast area
- * Access: You’ll find us on the 15th floor of ITU tower - you can enter the tower building using your WSIS pass. UN Mission employees may enter the ITU premises without registering to WSIS, but they need to carry their UNOG-accredited badge and they need to have it registered in the ITU access control system beforehand.

Background Launched in 2019 by UNICEF and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Giga aims to connect every school in the world to the Internet by 2030. Connecting schools allows children to develop digital skills and access online learning content. Schools can also become anchor points for surrounding communities: if you can connect the school, you can also connect local businesses and services. This creates opportunities for service providers to generate revenue from paying users, making connectivity more sustainable. Giga is the only named initiative for connectivity in the UN Secretary-General’s Digital Cooperation Roadmap and his Common Agenda. On the occasion of the World Summit on the Information Society and AI for Good the Secretary-General is hosting a private high-level breakfast and a discussion on Giga. This gathering presents an opportunity for participants to come together, exchange insights on the progress made, and explore the potential opportunities that lie ahead. Objectives
