Dear Madam,
I am writing to follow up on my previous correspondence dated 28 September 2023, wherein I requested
confirmation or nomination of a focal point to the European Environment and Health Task Force (EHTF)
in order to advance the implementation of the Declaration of the Seventh Ministerial Conference on
Environment and Health (Budapest Declaration).
Allow me to highlight the significance of the role of the focal point within the European Environment
and Health Process (EHP). According to the institutional arrangements for the EHP,1 the responsibilities
of the focal point include actively participating in the EHTF’s annual meetings, contributing to the
development and implementation of its programme of work, and facilitating the achievement of the
objectives of the Budapest Declaration at national level.
The current EHTF focal point from your country is: Ms Aive Telling, Head of Chemical Safety, Public
Health Department, Ministry of Social Affairs, Suur-Ameerika 1, Tallinn 15027, Estonia, Tel:

The forthcoming meeting of the EHTF is scheduled for 26–27 June 2024 in Utrecht, Netherlands
(Kingdom of the). To ensure your ministry’s effective participation in this event, we kindly request
confirmation of the current focal point or the appointment of a new one. Please provide his/her
functional title, name of institution/ministry, physical address, telephone number and email address to
the WHO Secretariat ([email protected]) by 20 June 2024. An alternate focal point may also be named
if desired.
We extend this invitation to both the Minister of Health and the Minister for the Environment of your
country to nominate the focal points.
The WHO Regional Office for Europe, through its European Centre for Environment and Health in
Bonn, Germany, continues to support Member States in implementing the commitments of the Budapest
Declaration.
