Invitation to speak at the WELT Al Summit on 11 September 2024 in Berlin

Dear Mr. Järvan,

In view of urgent requirements for European competitiveness, WELT is expanding the focus of its Summit series to embrace yet onother key topic:

Artificial intelligence and European digital sovereignty.

One of its related challenges: Without a robust, sovereign European cloud and Al offering, Europeons risks non competitiveness and transatlantic dependencies in these fields.

The US ‘Cloud Act and ‘Freedom Act grant US authorities, under their own rules, access to data stored outside the US. Thus, European authorities, public institutions, companies, and organizations using US-American cloud services or software solutions can be monitored by US authorities without their knowledge and might lose control over their data.

But what could or should sovereign and competitive European cloud and Al options Iook like?

To discuss the woy forword the WELT Al Summit invites a limited circle of 50 porticipants from politics, digital championship, social organizations, defense, as well as board members and CEOs of leading companies.

Participants attend the conference throughout the day.

Speakers are welcome to arrive shortly before their contribution and leave the conference shortly afterwards if desired.

The duration of speakers’ contributions and panels vary between 30 to 45 minutes (including Q&A).

The Chatham House Rule applies. Statements made at the conference are only published by WELT with the explicit consent of the speaker.
