Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Estonia has the honor to forward the Open Appeal from the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Ms. Oksana Zholnovych, to the governments, diplomatic missions, and embassies of all countries worldwide (except the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus) regarding the provision of opportunities for recuperation and recreation for Ukrainian children due to the escalation of the military invasion by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, along with its unofficial translation.

We would kindly like to ask you to support the Open Appeal and consider the possibility of organizing recuperation and recreation for Ukrainian children in the Republic of Estonia.

Currently, Ukraine is fighting for its right to a future on the battlefield, and our children are also our future. We would like to sincerely ask you to support them during this difficult time for them and for their country.

Open Appeal from the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Oksana Zholnovych

to the governments, diplomatic missions, embassies of all countries worldwide (except the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus)

regarding the provision of opportunities for recuperation and recreation for Ukrainian children due to the escalation of military invasion by the Russian Federation in Ukraine

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the Ukrainian government and society, I express gratitude to all countries that are assisting Ukrainian children and families with children, ensuring their needs are met, and creating a safe environment for them. On behalf of every Ukrainian, I thank everyone for the comprehensive assistance which is invaluable!

For the third year in a row, amidst active hostilities caused by the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation, our children are experiencing physical and psychological trauma. They require restoration of their physical and psychosocial well- being, which is only possible in the absence of constant stress.

In peacetime, in Ukraine, health and recreation services were provided to over 2 million school-age children. Currently, the need for such services is much greater.

Today, the children of Ukraine, especially those from front-line communities, are experiencing violence, trauma, losses, forced displacement. Millions of children are deprived of celebrating birthdays, school memories, and communicating with friends and family. Children have lost homes, schools, and playgrounds. This is why they require our collective assistance, including organizing recuperation and recreation opportunities for them abroad.

Due to the escalation of military actions in the east and north of Ukraine in the spring of 2024, I appeal to you to assist in organizing recuperation, relaxation, and leisure activities for Ukrainian children in your countries.

Thanks to recuperation and full-fledged relaxation, our children will be able to regain strength and energy, recover psychologically, and most importantly, to some extent, distance themselves from what they have experienced and witnessed recently.

I hope for your understanding and count on our joint efforts to protect the future of Ukraine.

Our children are our future, and they deserve happiness!

щодо забезпечення можливостей оздоровлення та відпочинку українських дітей

у зв’язку з ескалацією воєнного вторгнення Російської Федерації

в Україну

Шановні пані та панове!

Від імені української влади та суспільства висловлюю вдячність усім

країнам, які допомагають українським дітям і сім’ям із дітьми, забезпечують їхні

потреби, створюють для них безпечне середовище. Від імені кожного українця

дякую всім за всебічну допомогу, яку неможливо переоцінити!

Уже третій рік в умовах активних бойових дій, спричинених

повномасштабною воєнною агресією Російської Федерації, наші діти зазнають

фізичних і психологічних травм. Вони потребують відновлення фізичного та

психоемоційного здоров’я, що є можливим лише за відсутності постійного

стресу.

У довоєнний період в Україні послуги з оздоровлення та відпочинку

надавалися понад 2 мільйонам дітей шкільного віку. Наразі така потреба є

набагато більшою.

Сьогодні діти України, особливо із прифронтових населених пунктів,

переживають насильство, травми, втрати, вимушене переміщення. Мільйони

дітей позбавлені святкування днів народження, шкільних спогадів, спілкування

із друзями та родиною. Діти втратили домівки, школи, дитячі майданчики. І саме

тому потребують нашої спільної допомоги, в тому числі з організації для них

оздоровлення та відпочинку за кордоном.

У зв’язку з ескалацією навесні 2024 року воєнних дій на сході та на півночі

України я звертаюсь до Вас із проханням сприяти в організації оздоровлення,

відпочинку та дозвілля українських дітей у Ваших країнах.

Завдяки оздоровленню та повноцінному відпочинку наші діти зможуть

набратись сил та енергії, відновитись психологічно, а найголовніше – певною

мірою відмежуватись від пережитого та побаченого останнім часом.

Маю сподівання на Ваше розуміння та розраховую на те, що спільними

зусиллями ми захистимо майбутнє України.

Наші діти  це наше майбутнє, і вони заслуговують на щастя!
