Dear colleagues,

we hope you are doing well, ahead of the big EU election weekend.

This is an informal notice that Minister Dr. Wissing would like to invite your Ministers to Germany on 21. October to participate in a panel discussion at the 2024 “Digital-Gipfel” (Digital Summit) in Frankfurt am Main. The subject of the panel will relate to the future of EU digital policy. Although an official invitation will be sent to your Ministers in the coming weeks, perhaps you are already able to put a note or block some time in their calendars, if available.

The Digital Summit is an annual dialogue forum in which participants from the public and private sectors, the scientific community and civil society can interact directly with the Federal Government. It will give them inspiration in a variety of areas, an opportunity to help set the course for future digital policy, and increase the visibility of their own concerns. This year’s Digital Summit has as its theme ‘Digital Germany – Innovative. Sovereign. International’, which suits the theme of our recent paper quite well. Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Federal Minister for Digital Dr Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Dr Robert Habeck and other members of the Federal Cabinet will be there to answer questions on their digital policy and explain their ambitions for Germany as a digital hub.
