GNSS Interference and Reporting
In Estonian waters, incidents related to interference with Global Navigation Satellite Systems
(GNSS) signals have become more frequent.
These disruptions can lead to the loss of GNSS signals or, in extreme cases, incorrect location data,
which, in turn, affects the operation of navigational and other maritime equipment. Ship operators
are advised to be prepared for unexpected GNSS signal loss, have an action plan in place, use
official navigational markings, and pay attention to relevant navigational warnings.
In case of GNSS signal disruptions, please inform the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical
Surveillance Authority (Tarbijakaitse ja Tehnilise Järelevalve Amet) and the Estonian Transport
Administration (Transpordiamet) with information about the area and time of occurrence at the
following email addresses:
mon@ttja.ee;
navinfo@transpordiamet.ee.
