I am writing to you on behalf of Social Economy Europe, the European network that federates and represents Social Economy toward EU institutions.
I am contacting you regarding two crucial matters for the future of the social economy in Europe, a topic your country recently supported through the adoption of the recommendations for condition frameworks for Social Economy. Attached to this email, you will find a detailed letter outlining our requests and here the link to SEE’s Memorandum.
Firstly, we would like to ensure that the nomination of a European Commissioner responsible for the Social Economy remains a priority on your government's agenda or during negotiations. This nomination is essential for the continuity of the Social Economy Action Plan (SEAP) and the broader development of the social economy sector. If there is anything we can do to assist in advocating for this nomination, please let us know.
Secondly, we would like to ask your party's approval for the renewal and continuity of the Social Economy Intergroup (SEIG) within the European Parliament. The Intergroup has played a vital role in mainstreaming the social economy perspective into legislative and non-legislative work, and its continued existence is critical for ensuring the proper implementation of the SEAP.

I contact you regarding the nomination of a European Commissioner responsible for the
Social Economy.
I am the president of Social Economy Europe, a network that is the voice of 2.8 million
social economy enterprises and organisations in Europe. We are the social economy
reference point at European level. We are a strategic partner to European institutions and
have led on EU policy on the social economy.
During the High-level conference on Social Economy: People, Planet, Action which took
place in San Sebastian and the social economy event in Liège last February, 20 member
states engaged in supporting the appointment of a European Commissioner.
With this e-mail we invite your governement to support the nomination of a European
Commissioner responsible for SE. This nomination is crucial to assure the continuity of
the Social Economy Action Plan (SEAP) and the development of social economy broadly.
If there is anything we can do to help push for this nomination, please let us know.
Furthermore, we would deeply appreciate if the European Commissioner could be
someone who supports sociale economy and who has a certain knowledge w in Social
Economy .
Lastly, we would highly appreciate if your party could approve the renewal and continuity
of the Social Economy Intergroup, a body of vital importance to mainstream social
economy’s perspective into the legislative and non-legislative work of the European
Parliament. The action of the Social Economy Intergroup and its members has been key
for the development and approval of the Social Economy Action Plan in 2021. In order
to keep social economy high on the political agenda and to make sure the SEAP is being
properly implemented, it is crucial to ensure that the European Parliament´s Social
Economy Intergroup continues.
