Consuitation on a legislative draft
Dear Ms Lagarde,
Pursuant to Articles 127(4) and 282(5) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Article 4 of the Statute of the European System ofCentral Banks and of the European Central Bank, as well as Article 2(1) of the Council Decision of 29 June 1998 on the consultation of the European Central Bank by national authorities regarding draft legislative provisions (98/415/EC), the Ministry of Finance hereby asks for the ECB’s opinion on the draft law regarding amendments in the Act on Introduction of Euro and related amendments to other laws. The aim of the draft law is to establish the rounding of purchase amounts paid by cash in order to significantly limit the circulation of 1 and 2 euro cent coins from 1 January 2025.
