Invitation to speak at the Final Conference

of the Technical Support Instrument Project

“Support to Improve Poverty Diagnostic and Social Policies Monitoring”

On September 12, 2024 in Zagreb, Croatia

Dear Mr. Minister,

We would like to thank you and your staff for sharing the experience with the Croatian delegation

during the study visit to Estonia which took place from June 4-6, 2024 on the topic of poverty and social

exclusion using administrative data at subnational level as part of the technical assistance project “Support

to Improve Poverty Diagnostic and Social Policies Monitoring” (the Project). This project is financed by

the Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) under its Technical Support

Instrument (TSI) program and is implemented jointly by the World Bank Croatia (WB) and the Croatian

Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family, and Social Policy (MLPSFSP).

Together with DG REFORM and the MLPSFSP, we are organizing the final conference to share

knowledge gains through this project to a broad group of stakeholders from Croatia, including the Croatian

Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of

Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation, Ministry of Interior, academia, and civil society.

The conference will take place on September 12, 2024, at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Zagreb, Radnička

cesta 21.

Given the invaluable experience of your institution and your staff related to the population and civil

register, we would like to invite Ms. Enel Pungas, Director of Population Facts Department, or Ms. Mairis

Kungla, Deputy Director of Population Facts Department, who presented their insights during our study

tour in June this year, to join us at this final conference and share their experience on the topic of Estonian

population and civil register. The WB will cover all logistic costs for the participation of Ms. Pungas or

Ms. Kungla as per the European Commission and WB policies including the cost of flight, hotel, within

city transportation, and per diem.
