The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) presents his compliments
to Member States and has the honour to inform them that the fourth meeting of the Standing
Committee on Health Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response (SCHEPPR4), will
be held in a hybrid format at WHO headquarters, Geneva, from 17–18 April 2024, starting
at 09:30 (CEST).
In view of the space restriction in connection with ongoing renovations at WHO
headquarters, up to two persons for SCHEPPR Member delegations and one person for
non-SCHEPPR Member delegations may participate.
Membership of this Committee is as follows: Ms Christine Harmston (Canada),
Dr Jonas Egebart (Denmark), Dr Grégory Emery (France), Dr Yasuhiro Suzuki (Japan),
Mr Selibe Mochoboroane (Lesotho), Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (Malaysia), Mr Ahmed Naseem
(Maldives), Dr Abdelkrim Meziane Bellefquih (Morocco), Dr Maria Teresa Barán Wasilchuk
(Paraguay), Dr Sabin Nsanzimana (Rwanda), Dr Élia A.A. dos Reis Amaral (Timor-Leste),
Dr Qasem Mohammed Buhaibah (Yemen), Dr Hanan Mohamed Al-Kuwari (Qatar) ex-officio.
Registration for virtual and in person participation can be initiated as of 4 March 2024 by
going to the following link: https://indico.un.org/e/SCHEPPR4 and should be completed by
10 April 2024.
Following registration, a personalized link to access the virtual platform will be sent to
delegates in the days preceding the meeting.
Registrations sent after the deadline may cause a delay in the receipt of a link to participate
in the meeting.
In accordance with resolution WHA49.9 (1996), and to support the aim of achievement of
SDG 5 (Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls), the Director-General
invites Member States to consider that gender balance be applied to their delegations.
