Object: CISE-ALERT VIP DAYS in Rome 11th and 12th September 2024
Dear Sir/Madam,
We are very pleased to invite you to CISE-ALERT Project VIP DAYS that will take place on 11th and 12th of September 2024 at the Italian Space Agency’s (ASI) headquarters in Rome, Italy.
The CISE-ALERT project, funded by the European Commission, aims to enhance maritime situational awareness and improve the interoperability between civilian and military authorities through the Common Information Sharing Environment (CISE). This two-day event will outline the benefits of CISE, fostering discussions and providing insights on its services and functionalities to enhance the exploitation of the CISE infrastructure. Our goal is to demonstrate the tangible benefits of CISE, both in terms of improved quality of collaboration between civilian and military authorities and in terms of type and quantity of data exchanged to support their operations at sea.
The key highlight of the event will be a live demonstration of CISE’s capabilities through predefined crisis scenarios. These scenarios will test the operational interoperability between partner systems under real operational conditions, addressing critical issues in the EU maritime domain such as drug trafficking, search and rescue (SAR), pollution, pre- arrival clearing operations, illegal fishing, protection of critical infrastructures, illegal immigration.
The event will also feature thematic workshops on the use of CISE. Your participation would be immensely beneficial to the project and to the upcoming CISE-related activities, as we will showcase technical and operational demonstrations of CISE will in action.
Since 2009, the Italian Space Agency is supporting the involvement of the Italian community into CISE. Appointed by the Italian Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri as “super partes” technical coordinator, ASI hosts, operates and maintains one of the two Italian CISE nodes, providing the opportunity to directly access to satellite images and services that support CISE operations.
The detailed agenda will be soon made public; we therefore enclose a draft that will be finalised in the coming days.
For more information and registration, please refer to the official website of the event.
We look forward to your participation and welcoming you to Rome.
Best regards
The Italian Space Agency conference bureau
