Dear Minister,
I have the honour to invite representatives from your Ministry to participate in the forthcoming thirty-seventh annual session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Working Party on Transport Trends and Economics (WP.5). The session will be held in Geneva from 25–27 September 2024.
The current session will address key themes related to sustainable inland transport, with the following specific issues to be considered:
• A progress report by the 2024–2025 Corridor Coordinators from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on the achievements of the ECE-ECO Coordination Committee on the Trans-Caspian and Almaty-Tehran-Istanbul Corridors.
• An update report by the Group of Experts on Assessment of Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation for Inland Transport (WP.5/GE.3).
• The final report of the Group of Experts on Cycling Infrastructure Module (WP.5/GE.5).
• A progress update on the newly established E-Mobility Task Force. • Latest developments regarding WP.5 managed tools such as the Sustainable Inland
Transport Connectivity Indicators (SITCIN.org) and the International Transport Infrastructure Observatory (ITIO-GIS.org).
