It is my honour to congratulate you on your reappointment as Heath Minister under the new
government, the refreshed mandate clearly demonstrates the trust and confidence that your
party and the coalition government have in your experience, professionalism and dedication
to the benefit and well-being of the people and the Country.
1 have also the pleasure to inform you that workshop on “Al in Smart Healthcare”,
organized by Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF), will take
place frorn October 23 to Novernber 5 in Taiwan this year.
As srnart hospitais and digital mediCal adrninistration have beCome trends in giobal
healthcare system, the application ofloT and Al is drastieally improving healthcare research
and outeornes by producing more acCurate diagnoses enabling more personalized treatments.
The said workshop is an ideal platform intended for introducing Taiwan’s medical loT that
streamlines adrninistrative tasks by using electronic reCords, health information systems,
remote medicine, automated logistiCs and explores precision rnedicine’s role in diagnosis
and risk reduction.
Designed to improve the capaCity of srnart healthcare technology to support rnedical
decision-making and optimize operational processes and to introduce situations where Al
assist in the interpretation of rnedical images, the workshop is ideal for experienCe sharing
and robust discussions among health officials, directors of medical institutions,
representatives of non-governmental organizations and international organizations. ICDF
will be responsible for providing attendee with round-trip economy class air tiCket, lodging,
rneals. local transportation and daily stipend ofNT$700(€20) during their stay in Taiwan.

Overview This workshop showcases Taiwan’s experiences in smart heaLthcare and Al assisted precision medicine. According to WHO report in 2020, the giobal heaLthcare workforce is overworked and under-resourced, which couLd be overcome through greater technotogy integration. For examp[e, Taiwan’s advanced medical and ICT industries have pioneered new heaLthcare technoLogies to reduce costs, increase effldency, and improve the quality of care. AdditionaLLy, medicaL Al has seen significant growth in recent year, especiaL[y in precision medicine where physicians use Al anaLyses in ctinicaL patho[ogy and radiotogy. By compLeting this workshop, participants wiLL gain practicaL insights to impLement in their home countries.
