In accordance with the Article 18 (2) of the amended Founding Regulation of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) “Advisory Forum members’ term of office shall be three years and may be extended”. Therefore, following this amendment I would be grateful if you could inform me of either your decision to extend the term of office of your current member and alternate, or of your designation of a new member and a new alternate for a three-year term of office starting 1 October 2024. In the latter case, I would appreciate if you could communicate the names and contact details to my office latest by 1 September 2024.

The current member and the alternate designated by your country on the ECDC Advisory Forum are Mrs Kärt Sõber and Dr Natalia Kerbo respectively.

Your Excellency, I have the honour to write to you regarding the renewal of the membership of the Management Board of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). As you may know, the members and alternates of the ECDC Management Board have been designated by each European Union Member State in accordance with Preambles 11, 12 and Article 14 of the Founding Regulation of ECDC for a four-year term of office that officially started on 28 September 2020, and which will expire on 27 September 2024. In this regard, I hereby refer you to Article 14 of the amended ECDC Founding Regulation, which stipulates that the “Members’ term of office shall be three years and can be extended”. The member designated by your country on the ECDC Management Board is currently Mrs Heli Laarmann. I would be grateful if you could inform me of either your decision to extend the term of office of your current member and designation of a new alternate, or of your designation of a new member and an alternate for a three-year term of office starting 28 September 2024.
