Madam/Sir

I have the honor to announce that the Republic of Uzbekistan, after depositing its formal declaration of accession in accordance with Article 2. paragraph 2 and paragraph 4 of the Statutes, officially joined ICCROM on 30 August2024, becoming our 138th Member State.

This significant milestone underscores the commitment of Uzbekistan to the conservation and sustainable management of its rich cultural heritage and marks a significant step in fostering greater collaboration and knowledge exchange among our Member States.

Uzbekistan's vast and diverse heritage, both tangible and intangible, spanning millennia is a testament to the nation's globally recognized historical and cultural significance.

By joining ICCROM, Uzbekistan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will undoubtedly enrich our collective efforts in fulfilling our mandate in support of cultural heritage conservation.

I am sincerely very pleased about this development as it will strengthen ICCROM's presence in the Central Asian region, and I am confident that Uzbekistan's membership will inspire other countries in the region to join us in our mission to conserve and safeguard cultural heritage.

On behalf of ICCROM, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for their commitment and I really look forward to start working together towards a vibrant, strategic and programmatic partnership which promises to bring lasting benefits to all ICCROM Member States, fostering a shared commitment to preserving and safeguarding our heritage for our present and future generations.

Cet 6v6nement marquant souligne I'engagement de I'Ouzb6kistan en faveur de la conservation et de la gestion durable de son riche patrimoine culturel et repr6sente une 6tape significative dans le renforcement de la collaboration et de 1'6change de connaissances entre nos litats membres.

Le patrimoine riche et vari6 de I'Ouzb6kistan, tant mat6riel qu'immateriel, s'6tendant sur des mill6naires, atteste de I'importance historique et culturelle de cette nation reconnue i 1'6chelle mondiale.

En adh6rant i I'ICCROM, I'Ouzb6kistan apporte des connaissances et des exp6riences, qui enrichiront assurdment nos efforts collectifs pour accomplir notre mission de conservation du patrimoine culturel.
