The World Health Organization (WHO) presents its compliments to Member States and
has the honour to inform them that the WHO Global Oral Health Meeting: Universal Health
Coverage for Oral Health by 2030, is hosted by the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and
will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from Tuesday, 26 to Friday, 29 November 2024.
The WHO Global Oral Health Meeting contributes to the preparatory process leading to
the 4th UN High-level Meeting on noncommunicable diseases (4th UNHLM on NCDs) in 2025.
This Meeting is organized in follow up to the resolution on Oral Health (WHA74.5) (2021)
and to accelerate and scale up national efforts to prevent and control NCDs with a focus on
oral diseases to achieve UHC for all by 2030 in line with the Global strategy on oral health,
adopted in May 2022 (WHA75(11)), and the Global oral health action plan 2023‒2030
(WHA76(9)) (2023).
In the preparatory processes leading up to the 4th UNHLM on NCDs to be held in 2025,
this Meeting aims to strengthen the capacity of Ministries of Health to fulfil the commitments
they made in the resolution on Oral Health and to accelerate the implementation of the Global
oral health action plan 2023–2030 as part of broader NCD and UHC agendas.

The WHO Global Oral Health Meeting will be held in an in-person format, with some
sessions being streamed online. The working language of the meeting will be English, and
interpretation in the plenaries will be provided in the six official languages.
Member States are requested to nominate two representatives, the national oral health lead
and the national UHC lead from the Ministry of Health, to participate and contribute in person to
the meeting. WHO will cover travel costs and per diem for Member States classified as least
developed countries (LDC) by the United Nations. The accommodation cost for participants
from such countries will be covered by the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand.
