Scope and purpose The purpose of this virtual meeting is to provide the EURGen-Net Operational Contact Points (and Contact Points for Operations) and the National Focal Points for Antimicrobial Resistance (and Observer National Focal Points for Antimicrobial Resistance) with updates on ongoing ECDC activities related to molecular surveillance of bacteria of public health importance.
Day 1 will provide updates on current and potential activities related to carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE). Day 2 is the ‘kick-off meeting’ for the ‘ECDC survey of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii 2024/2025’, presenting and discussing the published ECDC survey protocol and laboratory manual.

Day 2 of the EURGen-Net network meeting is the kick-off meeting for the ECDC CRAb survey, 2024—2025, which has a survey period from 01/10/2024—30/06/2025. Attendees can propose topics for interactive sessions in ≥ 3 ways:
1. During the meeting using the chat, or by speaking.
2. Before the meeting by email (to: [email protected]; [email protected]). At the meeting, ECDC will not share the names the people who sent the emails.

Purpose of the meeting:
