EIONET National Focal Points WISE national reporting coordinators National dataflow coordinators
Dear Colleague, We would hereby like to invite you to submit your national data in relation to the ‘Monitoring and Classification of Bathing Water’ for the bathing season 2024, in accordance with Article 13 of the Bathing Water Directive 2006/7/EC. Data delivery: Monitoring and Classification of Bathing Waters (ROD 787) The reporting obligation ‘Monitoring and Classification of Bathing Waters‘ includes monitoring results, bathing water quality classification, bathing season period and other management periods (such as short-term pollution, abnormal situation, and inaccessibility). National submissions on ‘Monitoring and Classification of Bathing Water’ for the bathing season 2024 should be uploaded exclusively through the Reportnet 3 platform by 31 December 2024. Please be informed that, as from 28 October, to enhance cybersecurity of Reportnet 3, a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is needed to access the platform. More information and guidelines can be found here. The data delivery requires three reporting tables, for which an Excel template is available on the
Bathing Water Directive reporting help section. It can be downloaded here.
Changes can be made to the reported information, as long as the data are not released, but for your data to be considered as an official submission, you must release it. Once the data are released, you will not be able to make any further changes to that specific data delivery. Unfortunately, the deliveries that are not released cannot be processed in the system and are therefore treated/perceived as not officially delivered.
In the BWD Help section the following supporting documents can be found:
• BWD Reporting Guidance – composition of the dataset, description of tables and fields;
• How to use Reportnet 3 for Bathing Water reporting – tutorial for BWD data upload;
• Guidelines for the assessment under the BWD – description of the EEA assessment protocol. The protocol has not changed since the 2021 bathing season.
Reference data: ‘Identification of Bathing Waters’ (ROD 788) The reporting on ‘Monitoring and Classification of Bathing Waters’ uses your national data on the ‘Identification of Bathing Waters’1 as reported by your country before the start of the 2024 bathing season. This means that data can be reported only for identified bathing waters, reported for your country. Data quality check and correction of data Once the data file is uploaded, the system will run an automatic quality check. The detected data issues (blockers, errors and warnings) will be automatically shown. We kindly request that you check the results of the automatic quality check and correct any issues. The corrected data must be redelivered and released. Helpdesk support The EEA provides helpdesk support at several levels. For general guidance on reporting the national data to Eionet, please contact the Eionet National Focal Point. Reporting permissions are to be communicated between WISE national reporting coordinators and [email protected]. In case of login problems or any other technical difficulties encountered with Eionet web services, please contact Eionet Helpdesk. For questions related to the content of the data requested, please contact the EEA - ETC/BE team on Bathing Water at [email protected]. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and look forward to receiving your submissions.
