We would like to invite your country to nominate representatives to
participate in the 2nd WHO European Quality of Care and Patient Safety
Focal Points Network Meeting, which will be held in Athens, Greece, on 12
December 2024.
The nominated representative(s) will also serve as the focal point for
quality and patient safety in your country.
Kindly note that the nominated representative(s) will be also invited to
attend the WHO 2nd Meeting of the Minds, which will take place in Athens
on 10-11 December 2024.
We understand that some may prefer to participate virtually, so we are
offering the option for online participation in both events.
Your participation and engagement in these important events are vital as
we continue to collaborate on improving healthcare quality and patient
safety across the region.
We kindly ask that you submit your nominations at your earliest
convenience and not later than Friday 22 November 2024 with email to: Dr

Nomination of country representatives for the 2nd WHO European Quality of Care and Patient
Safety Focal Points Network Meeting
We are writing to request your assistance in nominating representatives from your country to participate
in the 2nd WHO European Quality of Care and Patient Safety Focal Points Network Meeting, to be held
in Athens, Greece, on 12 December 2024. Nominees also serve the role of focal point for quality and
patient safety for your country.
As part of our efforts to improve quality of care and patient safety throughout the WHO European
Region and following the successful launch of the WHO European Network of Focal Points for Quality
of Care and Patient Safety in May 2023, this meeting aims to update the Network's objectives, present
the WHO European Progress Report on Quality of Care and Patient Safety, and discuss a new "Health
System Assessment Tool for Quality Improvement".
The nominated representative(s) will also be invited to participate in the WHO 2nd Meeting of the
Minds, to be held in Athens, Greece, on 10-11 December 2024. This event aims to advance scientific
knowledge and expertise on quality of health care in the European Region, and to provide a platform
for key stakeholders and international experts to learn and share best practices.
To facilitate participation, travel expenses for participants will be covered, and they will also receive a
daily subsistence allowance for the duration of the in-person meeting in accordance with WHO’s travel
regulations. Please submit your nomination, including the proposed participant’s full name, functional
title, affiliation and contact details at your earliest convenience and, preferably no later than
22 November 2024.
