Dear National Focal Points for Public Health Training (Members),

The hosting of trainings by Member States is a way of collaboration, that strengthens the link between the Member States.

We are now looking for an institute that would like to host ECDC Summer School focusing on the topic of mathematical modelling, being conducted face-to-face on 6-8 May 2025.

General criteria that we look at when prioritizing where to conduct a training:

• appropriate venue available free of cost in terms of meeting rooms and facilities;

• one plenary room for approximately 40-50 participants with a projector. Plenary room is suitable for hybrid meetings, meaning the meeting room is equipped with microphones, speakers and a camera; 

• the venue enables group work (4-5 groups) either in plenary room and/or additional rooms;

• 4-5 flipcharts are available;

• location of the institute (rather than in a conference centre/hotel);

• possibility to host external catering (coffee breaks/lunches) for participants, financed by ECDC.

We would like to hear your interest in hosting the ECDC Summer School by 10 December 2024. Please reply by answering to this email and providing venue’s location and any additional information related to the general criteria you consider relevant.

After receiving the expressions of interest, ECDC will decide about the location taking into account the general criteria above. In addition, aspects such as suitability in terms of organisation of travel arrangements and the availability of ECDC budget related to the specific location can be taken into consideration.
