Wishing you a successful start to the New Year. We are reaching out to kindly remind you about the invitation to participate in a survey on the continuity of care for people with TB who move between EU/EEA countries, sent out on December 2, 2024 (enclosed).
Acknowledging the competing demands related to end-of-year activities, we are extending the submission deadline to Friday, January 17, 2025.
Please note that we are requesting one response per country. You may need to consult with colleagues directly involved in providing TB care to migrant populations (e.g., clinicians, nurses, community health care workers) to answer some questions.

Working group on tuberculosis and migrant health
Background
In March 2024, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) established a working group
on tuberculosis (TB) and migrant health to facilitate the exchange of current practices and challenges among
countries in the European Union and European Economic Area (EU/EEA).
The working group aims to provide EU/EEA countries with advice on good practices to ensure the continuity
of care for people who have been diagnosed with TB and transfer between EU/EEA countries.
Specific objectives
1. To identify and describe good practices to ensure the continuity of care for people with TB (in particular
migrant populations), implemented in EU/EEA countries through cross-border collaborations.
2. To identify challenges experienced by treating physicians when transferring out people with TB
migrating from one EU country to another.
3. To propose a basic information package to promote harmonised cross-border TB management across
EU/EEA countries.
Duration of the working group activities
The duration of the working group activities is one year with possibility of a 6-month extension if required.

Membership
The working group consist of 14 experts from EU/EEA with experience in TB prevention and care activities.
Working group members were selected after a nomination process whereby experts from the TB Disease
Network submitted their expression of interest and National Coordinators from EU/EEA countries proposed
national experts. Nominated experts were appointed by ECDC in their own individual and independent capacity
based on their areas of expertise, after assessing their declarations of interest.
