Dear Mmes Ministers, Dear Mr Minister,

we have been running together the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) international initiative for a significant period of time, and the February next year wiii indeed mark 20 years since the first signing of the deciaration of its estabiishment. 1 wouid like to cordiaily thank you for your hitherto cooperation on this important project.

1 am aiso very pieased to inform you that the Czech Republic has decided to adhere to the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity in the format of fuil membership. 1 am enclosing the letter in this matter.

1 am pieased that the Czech government has decided to become a tuli member after years of fruitfui cooperation with the Network as an observer country, Czech contributions deiivered to speciai projects and events and the invoivement of Czech experts in the ENRS bodies. In this way, it wiii contribute more to the creation and deveiopment of our joint initiative.

The Institute for the Study of Totaiitarian Regimes (L?stav pro studium totalltnfch rez7mö, OSTI?) - a state office estabiished in 2007 by the Czech Government - has been

designated as the institution representing the Czech Republic in the European Network of Remembrance and Solidarity. The Institute collects, analyses and makes available documents from the Nazi and communist eras. It also archives documents of the former secret state police StB. USTR shall nominate Czech representatives in the advisory bodies of the ENRS - a representative in the Steering Committee and members of the ENRS Scientific Council and the Advisory Board. Concurrently, 1 would like to inform you that working contacts are being deployed concerning the method of signing the annex to the 2005 Declaration regarding the creation of the Netwo,i, and 1 shall be informing you about their results without delay.

The Czech Republic’s adherence to the group of the Network members - signatories of the Declaration, fits perfectly into the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity falling on 2025. 1 believe that we wilI eventually be able to welcome Aibania, Austria, Estonia, Georgia and Lithuania, i.e. the remaining states with observer status, to the group ENRS fuli members. 1 hope that, within the framework of our cooperation, we wiIl be able to further develop this significant project.

to become a fuli member of the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity

(ENRS).

The lnstitute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (CJSTR) wiIl be appointed as an

institution to represent the Czech Republic in ENRS. Representatives of the Czech

Republic in the ENRS bodies wiII be designed and sent by CJSTR.
