Mr Villu KÕVE, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Estonia Subject: World Law Congress 2025 Dear Mr Chief Justice, On behalf of the World Jurists Association and its Board of Directors, following our meeting at the XIXth Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts (CECC) in Chisinau, organized under the leadership of Domnica Manole, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, we would be greatly honored if you would consider joining us for the upcoming World Law Congress Dominican Republic 2025 as a distinguished speaker. Your expertise and insights would be invaluable in continuing and shaping discussions that address pressing issues affecting the legal profession and society at large. The World Law Congress has established itself as one of the most prestigious legal dialogue forums in the world, where judges, lawyers, professors, and legal professionals from all continents, as well as other branches of knowledge, work and cooperate to strengthen the Rule of Law as the only alternative to the rule of force. The World Jurist Association (WJA) is an entity with special consultative status with the United Nations. It was founded over 60 years ago in Washington D.C. under the impetus of Judge Earl Warren, a great defender of Civil Rights and Chief Justice of the United States, and thanks to the ongoing commitment of the American Bar Association (ABA) as well as Presidents G. Ford, D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and L. B. Johnson. During this Congress, the World Peace & Liberty Award will be presented to Sonia Sotomayor, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. This award is considered by many to be the Nobel Prize in Law and has been received, among others, by Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, René Cassin, draftsman of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, Ruth B. Ginsburg, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, HM King Felipe VI of Spain, Andrew Young, leader of the civil rights movement in the United States and, more recently, by the European Commission in the person of its president Ursula von der Leyen, at the United Nations headquarters in NY.
