Dear Ambassador,
Thank you very much to you and your colleagues for the great start of the joint work of

Therefore, the AI Office kindly requests Member States to nominate, in writing to EU-

alternatively depending on the topic discussed. Nominees should have expertise
related to one or, preferably, multiple areas of Union legislation, in particular
legislation listed in Annex I of the AI Act and other relevant Union legislation.
2. Annex III High-risk AI: One technical-level representative and substitutes from
Member States’ ministries responsible for AI policy and relevant supervisory
authorities. Member States may nominate multiple substitutes for different Annex
III areas, who can participate alternatively depending on the topic discussed.
Nominees should have expertise related to the practical application of AI in the
areas of Annex III and to relevant sectoral legislation (except in areas that are
2
covered by other subgroups, notably the sub-group on Law Enforcement and
Security and Financial Services).
3. Law Enforcement and Security: One technical-level representative and
substitutes from relevant Member States’ ministries and relevant supervisory
authorities. Member States may nominate multiple substitutes for different areas of
expertise, who can participate alternatively depending on the topic discussed.
Nominees should have expertise related to the practical application of AI in relation
to the areas of Annex III point 1, points 6 and 7 or prohibited practices that are
relevant for law enforcement, security, border management, migration and asylum
and to relevant sectoral legislation.
4. Financial Services: One technical-level representative and one substitute from
relevant Member States’ ministries and relevant supervisory authorities. Nominees
should have expertise related to the practical application of AI in the area of
financial services, and to the applicable Union financial services legislation and
specific issues related to high-risk use cases in Annex III, points 5 b) and c) AI Act.
Thank you in advance for your nominations and continued cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
