Dear Member State, Associate Member and Affiliate Member,
The General Assembly of IALA in Singapore 18-21 February 2025 is fast approaching, and we are pleased to send you the latest programme for the General Assembly and an updated organization for the meeting together with some information about the week.
The General Assembly will start on Tuesday 18 February 2025 at 09.00 in the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. Two WWA seminars and the Affiliate Industrial Members General Assembly will be held at the same venue on Monday 17 February 2025.
Registration
Member States are required to register the names of all delegates, alternates, advisors and other persons designated by Member States to attend the General Assembly.
All other IALA Members and observers are also required to register prior to the General Assembly opening date with details about their representatives

Credentials
Credentials will be required for the Head of Delegation of Member States and for alternates, if any.
Credentials are to be issued by the Head of State, Head of Government, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister concerned or any other person or authority specifically authorized for that purpose. Where credentials are issued by a person or authority under specific authorization, such credentials should expressly state that authorization to issue the credentials has been conferred upon the person issuing the credentials by one of the above-mentioned State officials.
A document containing a model letter of credentials is available on the https://www.iala-aism.org/meeting-docs/general-assembly/meetings/
Credentials should be communicated to the Secretary-General in advance of the opening of the General Assembly, and preferably no later than 1 February 2025. Original credentials will be collected at the registration desk.
Council
It is still possible for Member States to make nominations for Council election. The nomination should include the name of the Member State, credentials of the Member State for a position on the Council and credentials of the person who would represent the Member State on Council. A standard credentials form for candidates to the Council is at Annex 3 of Circular Letter IGO-2024/01 of 22 August 2024.

ORGANIZATION OF THE WORK OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Introduction
The General Assembly is being convened in Singapore, at the kind invitation of the Government of Singapore.
Duration of the General Assembly and events
Provision has been made for a four-day General Assembly to be held from Tuesday, 18 February, to Friday,
21 February 2025.
A Seminar on VDES and a seminar on Safety of Navigation will be arranged by the World-Wide Academy on
Monday 17 February.
A welcome reception is scheduled for Monday evening on 17 February and a dinner Wednesday evening on
19 February 2025.
Opening of the General Assembly and general statements
The General Assembly will open on Tuesday, 18 February 2025, at 9.00. After the opening and welcome the
floor will be open for general statements from delegations.
General Assembly of the Affiliate Industrial Members
The General Assembly of the Affiliate Industrial Members will take place on Monday 17 February at 14.00.
The meeting will be hybrid with the possibility of on-line participation.
Interpretation and records of decisions
As agreed at the Diplomatic Conference in Kuala Lumpur on 28 February 2020, Resolution 1, the General
Assembly shall be conducted in the official language, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
All input papers in the form of draft resolutions and the report shall be translated into the official languages.
The financial provisions for the General Assembly envisage that only one team of interpreters will be
available. Accordingly, only one meeting requiring interpretation can be held at any time, with Plenary taking
precedence.
Credentials
