Subject: Call for contribution to the budget of the Unified Patent Court for the year 2025
Dear representative of Estonia at the UPC Budget Committee, dear colleague,
On 25 November 2024, the Budget Committee adopted the 2025 budget of the Unified Patent Court
(BC/05/25112024), pursuant to Article 26 of the Financial Regulations of the Unified Patent Court
(amended 2023) (“Fin Regulations”, AC/04/24042023).
The Budget Committee has also approved the financial contributions to be called from the Member
States having deposited the instrument of ratification of the Agreement on Unified Patent Court, as
set out in Annex 2 of BC/05/25112024_E_Addendum. These contributions are calculated, for the first
time, on the new established contribution key pursuant to Article 37 of the Agreement on a Unified
Patent Court (BC/03/25112024 Article 1), including a “corrective mechanism” dedicated to reducing
the negative impact of the new key for some contracting Member States (BC/03/25112024 Article 2).
Accordingly, in application of Article 10 of the Fin Regulations, I am calling for payment of the following
amount, which constitutes your country’s contributory share in the 2025 financial contributions to
Working capital fund (WCF) 2025 and to half of the of the Operating Expenses and IT Capex pursuant
to Articles 36 and 37 paragraphs 3 of the UPC Agreement and Article 7 paragraph a) and to Article 63
paragraph 3) of the Fin Regulations after compensation and corrective mechanism (BC/03/25112024):

I kindly request that payment take place as early as possible, at the latest by 15 February 2025,
pursuant to Article 7 paragraph a) and to Article 63 paragraph 3) of the Fin Regulations.
