We are delighted to invite you to the second workshop on Antimicrobial Stewardship Programmes (ASP) implementation at the primary care setting, that will be held in Madrid in March 2025. This WS is designed to bring together expert insights in the field and will constitute a further step to develop a common framework on core elements and core competencies for primary care ASP in European countries to make Europe a best practice region.
Please find attached the invitation letter, which provides more information about the workshop and includes a link to the registration form. In this link, you will also find a request for some personal information, such as your travel plans and dietary restrictions. Antimicrobial Stewardship in Primary Care: A Workshop to build a Unified Approach in Europe
The venue
The Hotel Melia Serrano is situated in a privileged location in Madrid’s Salamanca
district, situated next to the well-known Calle Serrano Street.
The hotel has many metro stations nearby. It is well connected with the city centre, which
is a 10-minute metro ride away via Rubén Darío Metro Station, 200 metres away. It also
has easy access to the A-2 and M-30 Motorway.

How to get to the venue
- From the airport Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (MAD):
By Metro (Fastest and Cheapest Option)
Take Metro Line 8 from the airport (Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 or Aeropuerto T4) to Nuevos
Ministerios station.
Transfer to Metro Line 10 towards Puerta del Sur and get off at Gregorio Marañón
station.
Walk about 10 minutes to the hotel.
⏳ Duration: Around 30 minutes
Cost: Approximately €5
By Taxi (Most Comfortable Option)
Official taxis are available at the airport terminals.
The flat rate from the airport to the city center is €30.
The journey takes around 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic.
By Bus (Alternative Option)
Take the Exprés Aeropuerto Bus (yellow buses) from the airport to Cibeles.
From Cibeles, take Bus Line 1 (towards Cristo Rey) and get off at Rubén Darío.
Walk 5 minutes to the hotel.

By Bus:

Madrid, 3rd February 2025 Dear Partner, The Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices and the Andalusian Health Service are pleased to invite you to the upcoming Workshop (WS) on Antimicrobial Stewardship Programmes (ASP) implementation at the primary care setting. The aim of this event is to foster an in-depth and collaborative discussion among experts, with the aim of enhancing our collective efforts in implementing and optimizing ASP practices within hospitals.
Workshop Details:
• Date: March 25th and 26th, 2025 • Venue: Hotel Melia Serrano
A social dinner will be provided on the 25th March.
The agenda will be sent in due course.
Purpose of the Workshop:
In the context of the European Joint Action on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare- Associated Infections 2 (EU-JAMRAI 2), Work Package 6 task 1 (WP6.1) addresses Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) in human health. The WS will constitute a further step to develop a common framework on core elements and core competencies for primary care ASP in European countries to make Europe a best practice region. The WS will include interactive sessions such as group discussions and expert dialogue and insights. This approach will ensure well-rounded and effective discussions, allowing each participant to contribute meaningfully to the topics addressed. Active participation is highly recommended as it will significantly contribute to the quality and depth of the discussions and the conclusions.
